Having read about the really really nicely done bento boxes that people assembled, I am itching to try my hand at it. Reading more about it in the net made me realize that there are a lot of "tool" that a bento-maker must have in order to make those really cute boxes of goodies.
First up, is the bento box itself. Of course! Where would the goodies be placed if there was no box right? I remember my dad buying us a 2-tier box way before but I did not really thought it was that cool until now. How I wish I still had those boxes. Sigh.
We found this really cute boxes at our neighborhood grocery store. It came in 3 sizes. We bought the small (for me) and the medium (for Mike). Mike did not mind the color. According to him, what's important is the food that is inside the box and not the box itself. It would have been nicer if it had Transformers characters printed on it though. Back to the box that we bought. It's a two-tier box with a 2 separate compartments and a lock feature on the side so no need for a bento strap.
Nice noh? It's only PhP79(around US$1.50) for the small one and PhP85(around US$1.80) for the medium size. Quite a steal compared to the boxes I saw over at ebay. I already used it today but I was not able to take a picture. Hopefully, this will be the start of more creative lunches for me and the hubby=)Now, if only I could find a store here that sells the bento-making equipment...
