Mike and I tried this kebab place along Rizal St. I missed eating at Behrouz(? not ure of the spelling) and Mister Kebab so I was really excited.
If you are looking for ambiance or a place to impress your date, this is not the place. It's cramped, hot and service is so-so. Taste is ok. Would give it up for Behrouz anytime. The owner of the place is a foreigner who I guess was once an actor in his homeland. The evidence? The pictures on the wall showing his scenes. Kinda kitschy for my taste.
Food at the place is the usual kebab, ox brain, grilled tomatoes & onions. They also have chicken cooked 2 ways. Unfortunately, they were out of Muttabal when we were there so I had to settle for hummus. It would have been better if you could order the kebab and the pita bread separately. Hubby and I were satisfied with the food.
The only thing that I did not like about this place was that they do not issue Official Receipts. After paying the bill, one would usually ask for it right? So I asked the waiter for a copy of the OR. She nonchantly told me that they not give it because they get to keep the copy. I asked her why and told her that as per DTI and BIR regulations, they should be issuing ORs. She just insisted that they do not issue ORs. I was not in the mood to fight it out and ask for the manager 'coz I did not want to ruin my date with hubby so I just decided to let it go. But before I left I told the waitress that they should be issuing ORs. So I guess I will not be going back to that restaurant because of that experience. Unfortunately, it ruined my good dining experience.
