We finally tried this pizza place that I read about a long time ago in this blog. The place was nice. You could not expect it to be there because there is no signage outside, only that of Bistro Rosario and Cups and Lowercase Cafe. We were lucky because we got a parking slot right in front of the restaurant considering that it was the day before Christmas and there was a buying frenzy at the bakeshop of Bistro Rosarion. Anyway, I digress.
The centerpiece of this restaurant is their oven. A nice and big brick oven where you can see the fire roaring inside. Perfect. Just the perfect oven to make perfect pizzas. They do have a limited menu though. Mostly pizzas, a couple of pastas and 2 main entrees (roast chicken & roast pork). Since we were not that hungry, we ordered Pizza Gregorio (smoked ham, assorted sausages, tomatoes and mozzarella) and pasta(Porcini). The pizza must have been a foot in diamater. big enough for 2 hungry people and the pasta was just alright, creamy and tasty and enough to be shared by 2. You can also add extra toppings, which we did- extra mozzarella baby! yum yum! The extra topppings cost between P20-P50.
We were there on a windy day so the place was not humid plus they turned on their huge (HUGE) electric fans. Service was OK, nothing spectacular. The pizza took around 10 to 15 minutes to be served but the pasta took quite a while. We were already halfway done with the pizza when it came. I just find it weird that they place a bottle of ketchup together with the other condiments for the pizza like the bottled hotsauce, bottle of red pepper flakes and flavored olive oil. The pepper flakes might have been old because they have lost their heat already. But the olive oil was still ok. Just enough kick for the pizza.
The place might be a good date place in the evening. They have a small pond with several koi fishes in the center of the dining area that could entertain the kids while waiting for the food to arrive. The tables are nice too. Big enough for 2 pizzas=) Prices are not that steep so it would not make a big dent on your wallet=).
