Hisss.....

I got a text yesterday around lunch time. It was from our yaya. She texted that she saw a snake as big as Apa's legs slithering in our backyard. It was going towards the compost pit that was full of leaves and grass. I panicked and immediately called her up. Apparently, they were in the backyard and it was Apa who saw the snake. They only took notice of it when they noticed that the dog was barking furiously and Apa was pointing at something. It was colored green and brown according to her so I guess it was a python or some non-venomous snake. But one can never be too sure. I instructed her to call 911 immediately and that I'll call back to check on her.

When I called back to ask what the feedback of 911 was, she told me that they told her to make sure first that the snake was still there before they will send a rescue team. WTF?!!! What do they want the yaya to do?? Kalkalin yung mga damo at dahon sa may compost pit namin to make sure that the snake was still there??? DUH!!!

I dunno where that snake came from. Probably it escaped from it's owner's cage. I was so irritated yesterday thinking about it. I mean if you own some exotic animal that you know can cause harm, then you should be responsible enough to make sure that it does not escape its cage. Hay!

Good thing Hubby treated me to a nice dinner at Cafe Med. We had kebabs with pita bread and appetizer of pita crisps with Moutabbal and olives and feta cheese. Yummy!!! I had to order another pita bread to finish my meal=)

After dinner, we went to the hospital to visit Popsy. Good news, he will be discharged today as per doctor's orders. He is improving very well. His speech is clearer now. We can see controlled movements in his right arm. He can already sit up straight although he needs to support himself with his left hand. Good thing my BIL is back for good so we don't have to hire a private nurse 'coz the BIL is a registered nurse.

With the events this past week, I'm thankful that my FIL survived the stroke and is well on his way to recovery. His sickness became a wake-up call for the whole family to evaluate their lifestyle. Everyone is more conscious of what we eat and what we do. Although I admit that old habits die hard (like drinking Coke Zero/Light, eating chips and having dessert after every meal) but I know that we will achieve our goal to have a healthier lifestyle. With all these, I'm thankful for all the things that come our way.
