BPA news

The whole BPA-thing has really got me confused. When news about BPA broke out last year, every mom that I know panicked because most of the baby bottles/products available locally are not BPA-free. Then there was a clamor for BPA-free bottles, which is not that readily available here in the Philippines. Then the issue about it intensified when Canada announced that it will ban products with BPA by 3rd quarter of 2008. They were the first country to take a stand against the issue. More debates here and here about it arose and the more I got confused. Sigh. It was a factor when I was deciding on which breastpump to buy(but I still decided to buy the Avent)

Now, when I was browsing the weekly news I get from Babycenter, I read that US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) declared the BPA baby bottles to be safe. Read the article here. So, who's telling the truth???
