We all have learned to shield ourselves from getting hurt but sometimes, we still cannot run away from it. It's true that the people who can hurt us the most are those who we love and keep closest to our hearts. I have learned that lesson the hard way. No matter how hard we try to keep ourselves fortified someone is bound to make us experience the most gut-wrenching heartache and disappointments in our life.

A lesson learned: Never expect anything in return. This has saved me from experiencing a lot of disappointments and heartaches in my life. It helped me in avoiding to shed a bucket or two of tears over disappointing situations. Call me a martyr but it sure does works for me.

Gosh! I'd really give up something for a cigarette right now... Just to blow off some steam. I'll just imagine that all I'm feeling now is just like the smoke that I exhale in every puff that I take.
