updates updates.....
it's been a while since I last wrote something here. a few misadventures has happened. an early morning earthquake, OTY sessions in the office, and the last but not the least, a food prepation mishap. I'll make kwento everything here ok.
A few weeks ago, an intensity 6 point something earthquake rocked metro manila at around 3:00 in the morning. Of course, while three-fourths of the city is asleep, night creatures called call-center agents like me was awake to experience that life-changing minute. it was the longest minute of my life and the longest call that I ever took. It started as a slow movement, like someone was just pushing your chair then it started to get strong and that was when everybody on the floor realized that it was an earthquake. hello! we were 28 floors above sea level when that happened! I was paralized for a millisecond, long enough for a call to come in to my line. I had no choice but to act normal and accomodating to some person in th USA who doesn't even know that a tragedy might have happend. I think that was the longest call I had ever! Half of my brain was probing for more information from the guest like room preferences, 2 doubles or kings, will there be kids in her group, questions that were needed to be asked so that the hotel would have all the information that they need before quoting a rate and answering the guest's queries about our properties. While all that is going through half of my brain, the other half was cursing as if there was no tomorrow! "P%&*N# I*@ lumilindol na dito, ang dami mo pang tanong!" I soooooo wanted to release the call but I could'nt. The call ended just as the tremors were starting to slow down. Quoting Chona, "betch!"
OTY sessions are normal occurences in opur workplace. My shift ends at 5 am and since it's the "ber" months already, the sun does not usually show up till around 6. I dont want to risk my life walking home at 5 in the morning when it looks like it's still midnight. God knows what danger lurks in those dark corners of the Makati CBD. So, I usually follow-up on requests and do other office-related work until I feel it's safe to go home which is already around past 5 am. Howell.... life sure is tough...
The food mishap incident is something that I don't really want to elaborate on. I still gives me the chills whenever I think about it. Let's just say, I was so damned hungry, my brain was not working anymore. It looked like I wanted to commit suicide but did not quite get the aim right. 'Nuff said...
Another funny thing happend to me last week. The elevator was about to go down when the guard suddenly pushed the down button so, I was forced to wait for that person to come in to the elevator. Lo and behold! It was the British fafa from the other side of the world! He smiled when he entered and made some small talk. His accent was so heavy, I had a hard time understanding what he said. I suddenly heard myself say " whaaat?" hehehe... talk about respect! Howell... but he was cool. Talk about seeing a big caucasian guy using a small umbrella. He looked so out of place...
My own fafa was so kind to fetch me this morning. I was off at 4 am and I told him I wanted to go home early. So he woke up at 4 am to fetch me and before going home, we passed by a 24-hour KFC branch near his place and shared a 2 piece chicken meal. It was so sweet. He ate the rice while I got the mashed potato. We upsized the drink so that we could share it. Hehehe... talk about being such a cheapskate. (Mikee, if you're reading this, i'm just joking =) hehehe...)
nothing much to say... i believe, i've exhausted my kwentos already. more next time.
