We celebrated Apa's birthday last July 21, 2007, 2 days before his actual birthday. The party started at 4 pm.
Venue: Max's Glorietta
Rating: 6.5
They had 2 function rooms on the second floor. There as another birthday party being held in the other room and the room that was assigned to us was the smaller one since we initially expected around 60 people to come, including kids. The airconditioning of the room was not sufficient so it was warm, especially when all of the guests arrived. Service is ok, so-so actually. We had to look for the waiters when we needed additional orders but in fairness to them, our orders were delivered quickly.
Food: Max's
Rating: 9
The food was ok. We all know how Max's food taste. Fresh out of the kitchen naman ang food when it was served so I know na hindi sya naka-tengga sa kitchen waiting to be brought out. The drinks were served by the pitcher.
Food for the kids were spaghetti, hotdogs, ice cream and juice.
Food for the adults: Kare-kare, Sinigang na hipon, Lechon Kawali, Boneless bangus, Max's Fried Chicken, Rice, Buko Pandan, Iced tea and soft drinks.
Party hats, name tags, Emcee, Games, Mascot: c/o Max's
Rating: 8
All part of the Max's party package. The emcee was good. The games were ok. The kids had fun naman. One comment ko lang is they started early kahit na wala pa masyadong mga kids. So hindi na naabutan nung ibang kids yung mga games. May mga games din for the adults. The kids had fun when the mascot appeared. It had a dance number and photo-ops with the kids.
Lootbags, Tarp, Balloons: c/o Max's
Rating: 8
The cake was nice. It was a 2 layer cake with a race car theme. The big kids wanted to get the cars that were used as decorations sa cake. The cake was chocolate that had a marshmallow icing. In fairness, masarap sya. Hindi dry yung cake. Eto yung pinamigay namin sa mga kapitbahay na hindi na namin na-invite sa party.
The contents of the lootbags were minimal and mostly boy stuff so I added some little toys that the girls would also appreciate. I bought the extra lootbag contents at Makro Makati.
The balloons that Max's provided as a part of their package was around 20 pcs only so I added more. We just bought balloons at 168 Mall. There was a store there selling balloon kits, complete with the balloon sticks and curling ribbons so we just used that.
Pinata: c/o Max's
Rating: 9
It was race car pinata. Muntik pang makalimutan nung emcee na may pinata. When the string was pulled, pinagkaguluhan ng mga kids. It was filled with assorted candies and chocolates.
Invites: c/o Mommy's officemate and Max's
Rating: 10++
Max provided 20 pcs of their invites as part of the party package but I found the invite very plain so I asked my officemate to make one for Apa. My officemate gladly helped me out with this. The verdict, a lot of people said that the invite was nice and Apa was so cute in the pictures=)
Giveaways: Gerber bottles filled with assorted candies
Rating: 10++
Syempre, labor of love ni mommy ito which explains the high ratings! Hahahaha!!! But the guests found it cute. Helping the environment pa kasi I recycled the bottles.
Guestbook: Papemelroti
Rating: 5
I did not have time to embellish the guest book that's why it was so plain. I embellished it after the party. I placed all the gift tags from the gifts that Apa got. It's still a work in progress, parang mini-scrapbook na rin sya ng party.
Photo: c/o Tita Rica & our trusty Olympus digicam
I got this for free so wala ako reklamo. I have yet to get the digital files of the pictures from Rica's camera.
It was a simple party with mostly family and close friends in attendance. We exceeded the number of guests that we initially anticipated pero ok lang. Food was overflowing, the guests had fun, the kids had fun, and most importantly, my little boy had fun.
