Updates.....

It's been a while since I've written something significant here. Well, there had been a lot of things happening lately and I'm going through a lot of changes (literally and figuratively!). Things are starting to get hectic and I'm beggining to feel the pressure. But I can say that I'm still on top of things and I am still in control.

The pamamanhikan happend over the holidays. It was the only time that everyone was around so we thought it would be the perfect time. It was awkward at first but after Mike's dad spoke up, everyone loosened up and calendars were brought out. The parents insisted for the wedding to be held in accordance with the phase of the moon. A superstitious belief but it would hurt us if we abide by it. So it was to be held either the first week or the last week of the month. My mom wanted to postpone the wedding till the last quarter of the year but my dad didn't agree. According to him, if we make this later, a lot of stuff to worry about will pop-up so why stress yourself out. And so it was agreed.

THE date will be on April 8, 2006. The day after the Pamamanhikan, Mike and I started to fix and compile all the requirements that was needed to book church. We visited a few churches and as recommended by my best friend, we check out the St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Ma-a. Mike really liked the altar of the church so we decided to hold the ceremony there. Luckily, we were able to book the time slot that we wanted. We were able to do that on the day that we were supposed to fly back to Manila. I can call it a "photo-finish."

We still have a lot of stuff to check out and accomplish and so far, we have only booked the church. We have yet to finalize the details of the reception. We found the person to do our photo/video. Thank god for Wheng! She is our coordinator in Davao. We got a coordinator since we are both here in Manila and the wedding will be in Davao. She has been doing most of the legwork for us. We decided to get the dresses, invites and souvenirs here in Manila since there are a lot more choices and it's definitely cheaper.

I have not decided on my wedding dress yet. We went around Quiapo and Tutuban to check out the bridal stores there. The packages are really cheap! We were able to sit down with a designer based in Quiapo and I think I have found the person who will make my dress. I'll be going back there to finalize the details probably on Sunday as I have to attend my cousin's wedding on Saturday.

I still have no idea on the tokens to be given to the guests. Hay! naloloka na ako sa kakahanap sa Internet for the perfect token. Mag-iikot na lang ako ulit sa Divi next weekend to search for that elusive token. As for the invites, Mike and I decided that we will be doing it ourselves. Ang mahal kasi magpa-print sa mga printers. Sayang din naman ung matitipid namin. Hay... ang dami pa pala namin kelangan gawin.
